I was working on this collage and then got ideas for making a bigger one square meter collage. So this would eventually become the work Shadow Flag II, series 2. I made it with my favorite material adhesive plastic film on drawing polyester. Adhesive plastic film is very translucent so I decided to make this on a handmade light box.

Working on a collage on light box series of five, I made this manual collage on paper as the third in the series. The collages of adhesive film on drawing polyester on light box series, entitled “Vernissage”, were included in a group exhibition of Fontana Gallery in Amsterdam at the KunstRai/Art Amsterdam art fair in the Netherlands. I have never shown these paper collages before. For this series of work, I was inspired by a poignant contemporary event: a violent disruption of the opening of an exhibition in an art gallery. My fascination is the unpredictable and sudden intense occurrence that falls outside the regular scenarios. I always disapprove of negative behavior and support good energy. The media images I use are a reflection of the times in which we live now.
